Even though Wal-Mart is a colossal money maker, it barely pays it’s workers enough to live comforably, forcing employees to go on food stamps, Medicaid and other social welfare programs.
Wal-Mart pulls in $36 million dollars per hour – being the largest seller of food in the world. Yet, they don’t take care of their employees.
Through your tax dollars you are, in essence, handing a Wal-Mart cashier your money but not even getting so much as an empty bag in return.

What
They treat their employees like c**p.
Wal marts particularly in my area are cutting hours for over night associate. And some are looking at closing over nights. So that so called big raise they gave . well they are taking away not only the .50 cents for overnights. And forcing people to go other shifts with pay cuts and less hours. However i dont think sam walton would approve of how its being run now…but let them keep running their employees off and they wont have them putting stock back into the company. Yes i work for wal mart and i can tell you youll be hard pressed to find a happy employee in one. Or at least in my store.

When I was offered a job by them the pay was the same as any other retailers in the area. The pay could be higher for all retail establishments. But this article is totally misleading. They make it look like only Walmart employees receive welfare and we all know that is not true.
Why are they getting money?
They’re not. It’s a misleading title.
William Sprayberry Thank You
I have not set foot in a Walmart in almost 8 months, not for these reasons, but yes I agree they should raise the pay of their employees. I know of a company whose employees were on food stamps and other help from the government, once the CEO, found out about it everyone in the company got raises to get them above so they no longer had to receive any assistance of any kind, yes not the size of Walmart but had around 150 employees
No problem. The article does point out the amount of food stamps and other such benefits received by the workers but Wal-Mart itself doesn’t receive money.
