Even though Wal-Mart is a colossal money maker, it barely pays it’s workers enough to live comforably, forcing employees to go on food stamps, Medicaid and other social welfare programs.
Wal-Mart pulls in $36 million dollars per hour – being the largest seller of food in the world. Yet, they don’t take care of their employees.
Through your tax dollars you are, in essence, handing a Wal-Mart cashier your money but not even getting so much as an empty bag in return.

This story is a couple of years old and misleading. A single person would not qualify for extra money from the government BUT a person with MANY dependents does. And it is the government handing money to the workers. If you are Head of Household with many dependents and make less than a certain amount, you qualify for assistance. This has been going on for years!
Get your facts straight. Walnart only cut hours and lean new to temp workers because if Obama care that was voted in. America is the only country in the world where you get penalised and fined if you dont buy their program. That is worst than communist country’s. Blame Obama care act for that..can assure you that not one of his family members are on it
I’ve known some people that are unemployment or welfare and they have every Excuse in the book for not working. Like, I can’t find a job that pays me what I want it in that’s in my line of work. Any job is better than nothing! I notice a lot of signs while driving around that day “Help Wanted” or “Now Hiring”. Some people feel that they’re to good to start at the bottom of the companies pay scale and work their way up. One of the things that would really help the economy for women on welfare that have young children would be to offer free or affordable child care. With the cost of having your children in a daycare, the majority of their income goes to those high expenses, so it hardly pays for them to find a job.
I had friends who worked at WalMart, loved it, and worked their way up. I do wish they paid people better and I would pay higher p.
