Liberal news outlets have for months been saying that Donald Trump would be a disaster for the United States. They’ve basically tied his presidency to an inevitable American apocalypse, should he win the general election.
Apparently, they’ve become bored of that narrative. Maybe it wasn’t dramatic enough, or didn’t accurately capture just how deep the their disdain runs for the billionaire businessman.
The new line from The Economist is that Trump just isn’t bad for the country. According to them, his presidency represents one of the greatest risks in the world.
Yes, in the world of Putin and Kim Jong Il, Trump somehow makes the list.
See why they’ve employed this new anti-Trump narrative on the next page:
Here is the original story with the interview footage at CNBC.com (interview embedded below).
“The media has created the perception that the voters choose the nomination. That’s the conflict here,” Curly Haugland, an unbound GOP delegate from North Dakota, told CNBC’s “Squawk Box” on Wednesday. He even questioned why primaries and caucuses are held.
The media created the perception? Haugland, who is a member of the RNC Standing Rules Committee, is being totally dishonest. He is portraying the Republican Party as the innocent victim of inaccurate media reporting. But the Republican Party has taken the lead in crafting the deception that the state primaries and caucuses are intended to reflect the will of the people in choosing a candidate.
That’s not the purpose of the primary system. The purpose of the system is to foster the illusion that we are in control. Now that it looks like an “unacceptable” candidate might get more delegates, that deception is being dispensed with. But it is not a deception that “the media” is solely responsible for. It was a deception that the RNC encouraged and benefitted from.
Was Haugland, as an RNC official, told to reveal all on national television? Or did he go off script and give away a secret? The Republican Party’s legitimacy has depended on the widespread idea that they reflect the desires of the people. Without belief in that myth, how long can the GOP last? The Democrat Party is probably no better and faces the same credibility crisis.
No civics textbook teaches school children that the major nominees are chosen by unaccountable corporations. You can’t now admit that and expect no consequences.
This CNBC interview certainly makes John Kasich’s extreme arrogance and confidence seem more understandable. If he is ready to be imposed on an unwilling population, then arrogance and a messianic belief in himself as a “unifier” are job requirements.
Since the whole reason we are facing this situation is due to the rise of Donald Trump, I suppose it might be relevant to reveal that I am not an advocate for Trump. I voted for another candidate.
after what the rothchild monopoly has done to this country ,they are complaining??????? they are some of the crookedest SOB”s in the world
