We’ve been told that people used to come to our farm from miles around to get water because it’s so good. We love our well!

just saw a lan for a hand pump that will pull up from 500 feet, not sure how accurate the article was, but it was a larger diameter well cassing and brought up more than a gallon per stroke (huge fulcrum though) they are correct, in that the soil should be the right kind, glacial till in the midwest might work if you don’t hit large rocks, depth of the water bearing layers might differ greatly, and purity at certain layers as well, most around here had 35-40 depth, then the cities started pumping as well, and the “good” layers (purity) had to be found 80-120 ft down. DR company used to have a small well dig system that ran on a small engine, but only an inch pipe….. Best bet is rain water and filter system, with possibly a distilation unit as well for drinking, with all the chemicals put on farm fields even city water treated and processed shows Glyco phosphates in it…good luck!

looksbetter than the way I was taught
Yes, if you are only going 50 feet down
Had a well washed down 4 years ago. Not a big deal where I live
Great idea to save some money.
the only water he gets is the 1000 gallons he sent down with the hoses
