Don’t use galvanized pipe it rusts and is not good to drink either because of the metal breakdown use pex piping way more flexible better in cold weather easier to repair and this is coming from a plumber
The galvanized will rust, which will become a problem in about 40 years. The PVC without a well point will clog with debris in much less than that. There are lots of opinions on this stuff, but most people with enough water to use PVC and enough water to use 2 hoses, don’t need a new well. Different strokes for different folks. There is no one way that works for everybody, so it’s pointless to engage in an argument. Both will work some places, and neither will work everywhere.
I helped a relative drill a hole in his living room floor and we hand drove his well. When we hit water, we pulled the pipe out of the living room, put an electric pump in his crawl space, and fixed the living room floor. They’ve been using that water for the past 18 years without a glitch. Best tasting water around.
you hit a big rock your done don’t try this in Ma,
Ralph Allan has done a couple of these in Florida. Of course Florida does not have rocks and you hat water at less than 10 feet.
Try drilling in New Orleans. Two feet and you hit water. That’s why they bury people in vaults above ground.
That is “hit”.
How ya gonna run the pump?? The water is awful, it needs all kinds of filtering. I have two wells. I know what it takes to get decent water into the house. And after its in you still need an RO system to make it drinkable..
My industry, first of all it would have to be under pressure (artesian). Second of all most wells are in or below a layered rock formation. This is basically a five year olds trick. I remember doing this as a kid in the yard with a hose. This is what happens when you have nothing to do in retirement.
Yes.
Good luck. Will only work in ideal conditions. Have fun sealing off surface contaminants. Hope you like bacteria infiltration. Have fun installing your pitless as well, if it’s any place frost occurs you just wasted a nice chunk of time. BTW he’s injecting that water in the well. It’s not artesian in that area, or his truck would be in standing water, since it’s uncontaminated material. Please don’t waste your time.
