Most water tables are below shale which would be much harder to get through also the whole running water thing. This off grid solution would be a good idea if you had the fore site to predict a shut down. Also used more than 1000 gallons I’m sure. Cool but lame and impractical.

No end result ? All I Saw was a hole in the ground, how do you extract water from the ground after you did the big tiny hole?

This is total BS. This will work if you live where there is a 40′ layer of sand before you hit rock. And, if you don’t case the well it will fall in on itself.
