I’ve actually put several similar wells in when I lived in FL. It’s simple there and the water table is close to the surface. As to the question of if you already have water why put in a well. We used municipal water to put in the well so that we could irrigate lawns and gardens and not have to pay for the water plus municipal sources fail after major disaster and it’s nice to have a backup water source.
Yeahhhhhhhh, right…The aquifer where I live is 650 feet down.
Our house is on solid rock can’t imagine how long it would take to drill through that. It took a large rotary drilling company a day and a half to drill the neighbors well 190 feet.

Like to see that done in clay & shale. Looks real easy in sand…
In Florida it’s easy. The ground is mostly sand and easy to jet trough. At 15-20 ft down there is plenty of water for irrigation. In some places good drinking water is at 50 ft.
