This is all fine and dandy unless you live close to Bayou Corne and the sinkhole. Once you have a well drilled, it is state law in Louisiana to have the well check by the mining department of Louisiana Department of Natural Resources. A permit is needed to drill the well and the well can not be used until the water has been tested. This comes highly recommended since some wells in the Paincourtville and Bayou Corne areas have traces of all sorts of stuff including minute traces of $#%&!@*nic.
U have to have water to drill. Period! Well are drilled using water!!!! Otherwise the pipe would lock down before reaching depth! Duh people!!!!

Water is not part of the mineral rights when it comes to owning land. Look up the doctrine of riparian rights.
