Well does have to be a distance from septic system. When pipe is in place you should use bentonite to grout the outside of well casing. This prevents contamination from poisoning the whole Aquafer that maybe all your neighbors use. 25 feet is a real shallow well if there is farm land close by there is good chance that you get a lot of nitrates from fertilizers and chemicals. If livestock farms chance of coliform bacteria. Better to have deeper well.
Problems anymore is you have to get a justifiable permit, before you can drill.
Ha ha ha ha!!! Try this in north Texas. You’ll get about 3 feet down and hit bedrock that goes another several hundred feet. Then you’ll have to go several hundred more feet to get to brackish non potable water. It might work elsewhere, but not around here
No.pony up and pay a professional. Add a rain water collection with top of the line filtration system. Do it right the line1st time. May be a smart idea to do all your sustainable upgrades at once. Best to fund it as apart of buying a new home. There are tons of tax incentives that would pay for all these upgrades.
Chris Koenig, I think I still have a shot.
Been there, done that 40 years ago. Basically limited to about 80 feet and minimally rocky soil.
Sweet action

Awesome I can’t wait for the breakdown of society
I plan on drilling well on my PRIVATE PROPERTY. They can take their permits and shove them. I will. Not pay $3000.00 for tap on fee.
