The joys of country living. Your own well and septic. No fees or taxes. But there is upkeep
This works well in sandy soil for shallow wels. I helped a man in North Carolina drill a few wells with a similar method. He actually had a rotating rig with a drill point. It worked very well in the Sandusky soil and sandstone in NC. But you won’t get down five feet in the hard clay and limestone in KY with that setup.
I created my own and it worked well…. Of course it won’t go through the hard pan.
Love this guys choice in footwear in the beginning of the video. I wear Crocs too
As a Licensed Driller, i have seen this attempt from people many times and what they always end up with is a mess and a stuck pipe. If you really want to drill your own well, get a book about drilling. Study about borehole advancement with casing, formation identification and most of all screening in an aquifer and controling heave while screening. Consult your state water resources agency. Construction of any borehole that encounters groundwater can be a BIG fine. No joke.
Might work in one places with sandy soil and a reachable water table but in the upstate of SC I think you would be up a creek without any water. Red dirt and rock don’t wash away so easy….
If I had two water hoses, why would I need a well???
I like it. Too bad you can use this technique around here without hitting bedrock after a couple of feet.
how far down is a typically viable water table??
Some parts of America you may have to drill HUNDREDS of feet for good water! Other places it bubbles out of the ground!
