With over 50 years of Democrat’s ruling Detroit, one would think a city helmed by the American left and populated with union workers would be the centerpiece of what an American city should be, if liberals are to be believed that their thinking is best for America.
There should be equality on every street, plentiful jobs where evil CEO’s pay the workers a union bargained salary and education should be second to none because nobody runs public education like the democrat party.
Strangely, none of this has taken place. Detroit has been flushed down the toilet, bankrupted. It’s unions destroyed by foolish ham-fisted toughs who pretended to be “negotiators” but turned out to be dorks who let collective bargaining die slowly as they collected inflated salaries. The schools are warzones, the neighborhoods are crumbling and all the while more democrats get re-elected.
Nothing will change there, until people stop voting for democrats.
Colleges suffer greatly too under the weight of left-wing ineptitude. In fact, no institution run by Democrats is demonstrating the power of their Utopian fictions.

Shirley Dill Freeman BS I worked in Detroit when you could quit a job in the middle of the day and have another by evening. Thousands of people passing each other at shift change at the great factories…The Detroit mayors did not give those jobs away, the tax base. Detroit was handicapped by a single industry, put all their eggs in one basket, no diversification. However the mayors did not give those jobs away, they may have raised taxes on the working class and drove them out of the city but that was to make up what they had lost when the auto industry was given away at the national level…. I was there in the 60’s, I know who destroyed Detroit and most of the industrial cities in Ohio …. it was not as much the mayors as the national government.
If only all the money goes to a few rich people to distribute the way they see fit the world and Detroit and Flint could have been saved. Look how good the rich are treating the Chinese laborers that took the Detroit jobs. They have enough money to purchase 3 bowls of rice a day. However, its not a bunch of run down middle income class style houses falling down in China because they’ve never been paid enough money to build one and never will. LOL you suckers!!!
