The restaurant Sneakers Bistro in Local Winooski, Vermont has removed a sign that had the word ‘bacon’ due to Muslim opposition.
In a Facebook post, the restaurant issued the following statement, ““We are here to serve people BREAKFAST, not politics. We removed the sign that was located on public property as a gesture of respect for our diverse community. There were also concerns raised about safety (emphasis added). Removing it was not a difficult decision. We still love bacon. We still love eggs. Please have the political conversation elsewhere.”
Is the ‘safety’ factor the restaurant cited due to their fear of what would happen if they didn’t remove ‘bacon’ from their sign?
I am a vegetarian, don’t like eating animals, but I would NEVER push my beliefs on to others. I don’t do it to my husband and can’t imagine demanding it from strangers. I’m an American and so are YOU!! Outsiders don’t seem to understand the concept that others have rights too, even if I may not agree.
They caved. Sad!
I can not believe the America I live in today, what a weakling I wouldn’t eat there now for anything n guess what those Muslim s you choose to satisfy won’t eat in any place where pork is cooked or aced in the pan !
