The restaurant Sneakers Bistro in Local Winooski, Vermont has removed a sign that had the word ‘bacon’ due to Muslim opposition.
In a Facebook post, the restaurant issued the following statement, ““We are here to serve people BREAKFAST, not politics. We removed the sign that was located on public property as a gesture of respect for our diverse community. There were also concerns raised about safety (emphasis added). Removing it was not a difficult decision. We still love bacon. We still love eggs. Please have the political conversation elsewhere.”
Is the ‘safety’ factor the restaurant cited due to their fear of what would happen if they didn’t remove ‘bacon’ from their sign?

It’s so shocking to see this story. I honestly don’t think most Americans realize these things are happening. There are also recent articles about folks being forced to remove American flags from their front porches because some people are offended. Add to this the crosses being taken down and references to the bible being removed from public places etc… It’s almost too strange to be real.
