The restaurant Sneakers Bistro in Local Winooski, Vermont has removed a sign that had the word ‘bacon’ due to Muslim opposition.
In a Facebook post, the restaurant issued the following statement, ““We are here to serve people BREAKFAST, not politics. We removed the sign that was located on public property as a gesture of respect for our diverse community. There were also concerns raised about safety (emphasis added). Removing it was not a difficult decision. We still love bacon. We still love eggs. Please have the political conversation elsewhere.”
Is the ‘safety’ factor the restaurant cited due to their fear of what would happen if they didn’t remove ‘bacon’ from their sign?
I don’t like liver, so I don’t eat it when I go to restaurants. I don’t insist the restaurant remove it from their menu. This is not about bacon. It is about imposing their will on our culture. If people choose to allow this, they should be aware that this is just the beginning. I personally choose not to allow them to dictate to me.

Unbelievable-let her go back to her own country. I believe we can advertise bacon, pork, pig, or whatever….would they change the sign for Christians? I think not. She doesn’t have to eat there….
