The restaurant Sneakers Bistro in Local Winooski, Vermont has removed a sign that had the word ‘bacon’ due to Muslim opposition.
In a Facebook post, the restaurant issued the following statement, ““We are here to serve people BREAKFAST, not politics. We removed the sign that was located on public property as a gesture of respect for our diverse community. There were also concerns raised about safety (emphasis added). Removing it was not a difficult decision. We still love bacon. We still love eggs. Please have the political conversation elsewhere.”
Is the ‘safety’ factor the restaurant cited due to their fear of what would happen if they didn’t remove ‘bacon’ from their sign?

We have more Jewish people in this country . They don’t eat pork either but I have never seen or heard someone of the Jewish faith telling anybody to remove signs with the word bacon or pork in them. If you don’t want to eat pork because of your beliefs or health that’s fine. But that is your choice. Don’t impose your beliefs on anybody else. And besides our pigs come from farms where they are corn fed. So they’re good to go. Mmmm bacon, so delicious.
