Florida’s Third District Court of Appeals has just made a landmark ruling that the Institute for Justice is calling “a major blow to property rights.”
Tom Carroll and Hermine Ricketts, 17-year homeowners, have been fighting the Village of Miami Shores for the last 6 years. The battle ended in a verdict after 3 years but they fought on. It all started back in 2014 when the couple refused to take the “advice” handed down to them by the town officials keen on implementing a new zoning plan.
The homeowners refused to relinquish their constitutionally protected rights. That is when town officials resorted to plan b.
The couple subsequently sued based on a constitutional infringement upon their right to use their own private property as well as a violation of the equal protection clause.

BS
Context, people. Ugh! No one is saying that you can’t grow vegetables. The ruling is specific to the constitutionality of restricting what can be grown in a front yard. Think about it, and stop jumping to conclusions that aren’t there. SMH!

F**e News
Police will shoot your dog and wont get in trouble if it looks aggressive. They’re shooting dogs everywhere. There’s endless stories of if. Police enter the wrong house. Police chase perp into persons backyard and kill resident dog. Police ask dog to be put up and then go in and shoot it after it is put up. Police shoot dogs over fence in back yard because it’s barking was annoying them while performing their duties.
The police have no respect for pets and if you do manage to win a suit, the taxpayer pays the bill which will usually be $2000 or less and no apology. It’s disgusting and I say my dogs are my kids just like police charge you with shooting an officer if the roles are reversed.
I think it should be automatic firing and the officer should be charged with murder if it’s not warranted! I also feel a citizen should be able to shoot an officer for discharging his weapon to kill a pet that is no threat!!!
WTF??????!!!!!!!!!!!!
That’s a screwed up bunch of judges!!
