An estimated 800 people are living off the grid in Colorado, according to the Activist Post. From solar powered energy, growing your own food, and collecting rain water there couldn’t be anything further from the woes of commercial America in their community. The peace obtained after living in a demanding, consumer heavy society with regulations, and constant mafia style taxing has, unfortunatley, for these off-grid residents, come to a halt.
The government has waged a war on this self-reliant simple lifestyle because it does not fall in line with their control measures over the public. Jay Syrmopolous, explains on the next page how the government has begun efforts to ban ‘camping’ on ones own property, in order to force the off-grid homesteaders back onto the grid.
If there are issues to be addressed as to why these communities must go, the government clearly does not care about disputing and solving them as the regulations and restrictions for off the grid living have already begun.

I’m not from Colorado if somebody came on my land uninvited they would get a bullet in their head
Liberals know better than you, what you should do with your property. Vote Demo for an expansion of the same
Its a living off the grid issue alright theres a guy in another state who has a tv program about living off the grid and he has built a huge home and barns and has lived off the grid for a long time and now they are harrassing him telling him he cant teach people how to live off the grid he cant do anything or he faces fines for almost anything he does on his own property he is fighting them in court
Oh here in Mariposa County Calif. You can build a 12×11 structure without permit and use an out house …. But only kind of sort of …..Its a rural low pop density area …it was very traditional to live that way as you owner built a better place .
I lived in grandjunction Colorado in 2004 their laws suck you have to register any thing that has an engine even weedwackers and lawmnmowe through the DMV so this doesn’t suprise me one bit.
Hard to believe California of all places would let people have outhouses that’s surprisingly cool.
I think the issue would be camping and making a contribution to society. This is not the Old West, from my understanding there is a growing economy in Colorado. From my perspective, living in Arkansas there are similar people in the back woods. Most of which are cooking Meth, isolationists, and are not making any contribution to any community. One of the issues with isolationists is that statistically they develop mental illness, which could be a concern for extremism. I don’t know if there are ex-military men, who have issues with the government, or what. If it were just about building sustainable housing, that could alleviate the overall cost of living, then that is something entirely different. If there was actual construction taking place then that might be a different story. I’m just guessing, here, since I don’t really know all the facts.
