Law enforcement in Eugene, OR have stated they will forcibly draw blood on anyone refusing a breathalyzer this coming July 4th weekend.
Of course, drunk driving is a very serious matter. But do you agree that law enforcement can take such physical action against someone not yet convicted of a crime when they can still detain you by giving less intrusive tests, just as they have done for years?
I’m not sure what is meant by using the word “forcibly”, but it is absolutely certain that despite the wording, the police will not do this themselves. They will follow the law and have qualified medical personnel do it. No question, there is more to the story than what appears above.
Nazi State. Very sad. Cops are to protect and defend. That’s it. Not soldiers. Shouldn’t have soldier equipment either. Lost the reason for police.
I’m phobic of needles, and I imagine so are others! Of course we’re gonna put up a struggle!! That’s not obstruction, that’s a panic attack!!
this is a violation of my rights,,not worried as I don’t drink and drive,,I stay home and make an idiot of myself
POLICE STATE.
They can’t do that!
I believe this is unconstitutional.
They need to remember that they are “law enforcement”….not judge and jury. If a person refuses a breathalyzer, and the officer has reason to believe that the person is drunk, they should, instead, take them in and book them, and should be required to prove that they had good reason to believe.
WOW!!!
TOTAL POLICE STATE….. this is only the BEGINNING!!!!
