Law enforcement in Eugene, OR have stated they will forcibly draw blood on anyone refusing a breathalyzer this coming July 4th weekend.
Of course, drunk driving is a very serious matter. But do you agree that law enforcement can take such physical action against someone not yet convicted of a crime when they can still detain you by giving less intrusive tests, just as they have done for years?
We are doomed, a roadside medical procedure, nice free country! Better be licensed trained medical people, not thugs high on STEROIDS. Hey do the blood tests for DRUGS on all the cops, be ver efficient! STEROIDS! Urine tests are the next step from breathalyzer not a medical procedure, this country is FINISHED..hopefully they get sued, and put the town into financial destitution, based on thugs out of control.
going a bit to far
Every cop should have a test every month, they are the real problem in America, more so than drunks.
the cops seem to have the right to do any thing they want , even break the laws them selfs, but if we break one little law like a rolling stop or seat belt, then they treat us like criminals that shot some body
Fonzfan Nonya: While I agree that stopping idiots from driving while under the influence is important, unlike you I do not believe that we should surrender our personal liberties to any authority especially out of fear. “Those who surrender their liberties for security will inevitably have neither”. Yes; we want our children to be safe, but most Americans also want our children to grow up free from tyranny and police state tactics. We know that texting while driving is just as dangerous as drinking and driving; do you want the police to pull you over to check your text history? The police should definitely stop people from diving who appear to be driving impaired, but drawing blood from people that the police could not clearly perceive to be intoxicated is just a way for the people in power to flex their authority over the people.
some people fear needels you ole ding bat
Sounds like an illeg search
Most all states when you refuse a Breathalyzer you are Guilty, no need for that.
