It is becoming routine for police in some states to collect the DNA of people at random. Referred to as “stop and spit,” the practice involves swabbing the inside of someone’s mouth then sending off the sample for analysis. The results are then stored in a database.
It’s put forth as a way of potentially reducing crime. Of course, is a complete violation of the Fourth Amendment’s protection against unlawful searches. The old Marxist propaganda of giving up one’s freedom for security is a tried and true method of collapsing a free society under despotic rule.

RR Watson I did read. I also know that many people feel intimidated by law enforcement and give their consent because they are afraid not to. To be truly voluntary would mean the people came in to the station to give a sample, free of the intimidation factor.
This is Illegal. They either need a warrant or they can swab you if you’re arrested for a Felony period.

Like where? Without a law in place requiring firearm registration, I don’t see how that could be enforced.
Not quite true, there are places that have instituted the “policy” of taking dna samples from all people who are arrested for any reason. All that dna is going into a gigantic dna database. The potential for abuse is extraordinarily high (think $#%&!@* and how he would have used such a database)

doesn’t matter whether or not you are guilty of anything, that isn’t the point. This is a gross invasion of privacy along with being a violation of the right to be secure from UNWARRANTED search & seizure as well as it also violates the right to not incriminate yourself! Either way you slice or dice it, it is UNCONSTITUTIONAL, illegal and just plain wrong!
Mindy Curtis, now you have to prove your accusations. What places are authorized to do this? You just can’t institute a policy that takes a citizens rights away. So, please give us proof so we can research it.
