For those who have grown a bit cynical, the idea of ethics in government might appear self-contradictory. In other words, we might be able to have one or the other, but not both — at least not at the same time. This thinking is partly a by-product of the very public ethical lapses committed by those in government positions.
As easy as it would be at this point to launch into a diatribe against the Clintons, who have taken corruption to new levels, they are really just one part of the problem. And it distracts us from the fact that there are government officials who do exhibit a high level of ethical behavior in their spheres of responsibility.
The problem is compounded by the need to review the behavior of government officials when potential ethics violations are discovered. What this implies is that we have the government monitoring the government. The potential problems with that are obvious.
As Mr. Trump prepares to arrive in the Oval Office we see how this system can go awry. More on page two.

Bullcrap !
On the heels of his town hall where he was attacked it appears like he’s taking it out on the wrong persons. I firmly believe we have an internal coup going on in our country with Democrats leading the charge. Organizations and people are paying others to protest and keep things stirred up. It is not just disgruntled media focusing on non issues but a combination of false reporting by the media and anti-American organizations and those that believe communism / socialism is what this country needs. As I said it’s an internal coup in this country. The Democrats spent eight years of major changes in this country along with executive orders and crippling this economy. Trump has begun to undo more in his three weeks of office with a handful of cabinet members then where Obama accomplished in eight years with the Democrats in total control for 4. They are not going to take this sitting down
Turn coat
While I agree with this, I keep hearing stuff like investigating Kellyannes Conway for innocent remarks. I feel like this is nothing more than nit-picking. Investigate real problems and stop trying to make problems that don’t exist. That’s the kind of stuff we are sick of politicians wasting our time and money on. Focus on what’s real.
Amen. She needs a mental evaluation. She’s nuts.
He should be looking in on clintons
Oh come on now…Eight years of unethical behavior by ovomit…Really???
Oh, stop it! We have real problems!
I like you, but, stop it! We have real problems! She apologized and was counseled! Why wasn’t there any ethics investigation going on when Michelle Obama prompted J. Crew clothing on one of the talk shows!
