The small town of Nucla, Colorado, with a population of 750, passed the state’s first and only municipal ordinance in 2014 requiring heads of households to own guns and ammo, “in order to provide for and protect the safety, security and general welfare of the town and its inhabitants.”
“We more or less kind of wanted to give criminals a heads up. Stay out of this town. We’re armed,” stated board member Richard Craig.

But they are a religion of peace, don’t ya know?? Take it to court. Don’t let them get away with it!
My kind of town.
More needed.
Gotta love Colorado!
now thats a smart town
Not a bad idea
I would guess that in my small town in north-central Michigan, that 6 of 10 fourteen-year-old boys in the 1960’s and 1970’s owned a gun. We played pretend-guns at recess. We played World War II and Cowboys and Indians using sticks for guns. Every house (or very nearly) had a firearm or more probably many firearms. There were no school shootings. And yes, Virginia, there really were bullies in school.
I know of one other town that did this a long time ago. It’s a law that will never be enforced. It is meant to make a statement. Crime dropped significantly in the other town afterwards because career criminals just move along to another town. Here’s an article about Kennesaw. http://rense.com/general9/gunlaw.htm
they should do that here, and if they don’t do it here well I shot frist and there will be no one to answer later !
