Operators of the Nash Farm Battlefield Museum in Hampton, Georgia, have decided to close the five-year old Civil War museum after a Henry County commissioner demanded removal of Confederate artifacts.
The museum has been run by a nonprofit organization to commemorate the site of an August 1864 battle in the American Civil War. It’s been housed in a historic building in what has been a Henry County park.
Commissioner Dee Clemmons, an African-American woman, began her demands on the museum with a request to remove a Confederate flag displayed on a flagpole.

There should be laws in place protecting & preserving our history and flags, historical monuments, sites, & museums, when it’s gone and forgotten, history often repeats its self. Keep everything as a reminder of who we were and who we are. We must fight for history again! LEAVE OUR HISTORY ALONE!!!
You can’t erase the truth
If people don’t want to reference Civil War and Confederate flag because it is offensive, then we shouldn’t remember slavery either, it too is offensive
Time the American people stepped in put these non American people in there place under ground if nessary
Think the blacks need to do a lot of deep research in the history books …. first slave owner of slaves in the U.S. happens to be black … Africa captured and sold their own people as slaves .. EVERY RACE IN THE WORLD WERE SLAVES AT ONE TIME AND STILL HOES ON TODAY …. CHECK IT OUT BEFORE YOU OPEN YOUR MOUTHS ABOUT SLAVERY … PLEASE
How about erasing the history of slaves. Then we all can be happy. Everything is just to make the blacks happy and dont give a$#%&!@*how we as white people feel
