New satellite imagery has shown that China may have started construction on a new aircraft carrier. This would be their second one, in addition to refurbished Soviet-era flattop they finished sea trials with last year. When the construction is finished, it’ll be China’s first carrier made in their country. But images leaked from The National Interest shows that it doesn’t look very much like a carrier at all, which is to be expected, considering that China doesn’t have the experience or skill to make anything like modern U.S. carriers. Perhaps this is why they’re so interested in hacking American intelligence.

Looks like an aircraft carrier to me…

Steve the article is dead wrong! If these idiots had any sense at all and any real knowledge ofdge ont his subject theycy they would konw that the Chinese Navy has fpr pver 15 years been watching and learning about the projection oal basis!
I think you are dramatically underestimating the Chinese. Frankly this article reeks of hubris – the kind of hubris that often precedes a fall. . .
I’ll bet that when it is all over and done, you will discover that the Chinese had a damn good reason for building it with the dimensions that they have chosen, I just hope that we don’t have to find out the hard way.
You should never underestimate an opponent, or a potential opponent .
they also have a missile that can sink an aircraft carrier with one hit. So let us sink the two carriers they have and make darn sure they dont build anymore
Jack, first of all, it’s not a boat, it’s a ship. Secondly the US doesn’t have a century of carrier operation since we didn’t have a carrier until the 1920’s. Technically there were 2 boats that did operate aircraft. The French submarine Surcouf just prior to WW2 and the Japanese had aircraft carrying subs in WW2
Yak 36 Forger. Interstingly, when the Forger first flew, it was tested on the wooden flight deck of the Moskva class helo carriers. 1st time it went vertical, the flight deck caught fire
Yes you can. Take off with a conventional engine then at speed/altitude, kick in the scramjet
Doug McClure Addressing a ship as a boat is slang, just as addressing them as she. First flat top ops on converted cruiser Birmingham in 1910. 106 years ago.
I fully understand his confusion. Not his normal church. I am Catholic and the only time we pass a plate is to collect money
