New satellite imagery has shown that China may have started construction on a new aircraft carrier. This would be their second one, in addition to refurbished Soviet-era flattop they finished sea trials with last year. When the construction is finished, it’ll be China’s first carrier made in their country. But images leaked from The National Interest shows that it doesn’t look very much like a carrier at all, which is to be expected, considering that China doesn’t have the experience or skill to make anything like modern U.S. carriers. Perhaps this is why they’re so interested in hacking American intelligence.

Ya
If she has a ramp, she isn’t a carrier.
That’s no moon…
It’s an old Kiev class hull you bunch of dimwits! Made for launching jump jets, so they dont burn up so much fuel during take off!

One thing I’ve learned about China is that we only know what China wants us to know!
Yuo’re right Brian K. It’s one of the old Russkie jump ship which China acquired. BTW, Pearl Harbor happened because we failed to forewarn our Pacific Fleet forces of the Japanese plan to attack after we broke their code. As far as the Japanese inability to fly, remember that Japan had already a viable Air Force when they attacked China. That “limited eyesight” bit came from the British while their butts were getting kicked in Singapore and Malaysia. The only we need to be concerned re China is if they decide to radicalize their billion people as suicide bombers.
they might not be able to make something from nothing but they are the best at chinese blueprinting “reverse engineering” and make improvements on it….
Who was the moron who wrote that article? If it’s a boat that operates aircraft, it’s an aircraft carrier. Are the Chinese going to have learn a whole lot of blood lessons about operating in the most dangerous environment (a carrier flight deck) short of open combat? Oh, yes. The US Navy is still learning them after a century of carrier operations.
