Richard Nixon was the 37th President. He presided over some momentous events, but is probably best remembered for his resignation in 1974. He earned his bachelor’s from Whittier College in 1934 and got his law degree from Duke University in 1937. He served California’s 12th district in the U.S House of Representatives and then was U.S. senator for California. After serving as vice president, Nixon had a successful campaign for the presidency and took office in 1969.
