After high school, Mitt Romney enrolled at Stanford University. His time there was cut short when he traveled to France and did missionary work for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He returned to the United States after his time abroad and went to Brigham Young University where he graduated with a 3.97 GPA in English. He then enrolled in Harvard Law and Harvard Business School and graduated in 1975 cum laude, finishing at the top of his class.

Romney was the Republican Party’s nominee for President of the United States in the 2012 election. He won the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, but was defeated by incumbent Democratic President Barack Obama in the November 2012 general election.
