Rep. Ken Buck, R-Colo., introduced a bill in Congress that would make it a hate crime to target a police officer. Dubbed the Blue Lives Matter Act of 2016, the bill would expand the federal hate crime statute to include law enforcement officers who are targeted for acts of violence because of their jobs.
Buck said that the law would provide federal prosecutors an extra measure of authority in cases in which police are gunned downed and ambushed in the line of duty. “It would work the same way as existing hate-crime laws do which allow federal prosecutors to bring additional charges in cases in which victims are targeted for violent crime because of their background.”

there a lot of great men and women that serve our country with honor dignity and pride. It’s sad they’re having to tote the sins of a few bad apples that is in the organizations that get overlooked and protected. I am very afraid that Chicago and New Orleans is nothing compared to what’s coming
.
I agree 100% !! Where did lack of respect go for law enforcement anyway?? Why must a damn bill need to be passed to protect our Law Enforcement officers BLM don’t matter and should all be arrested for inciting riots and hate..
.
Blue lives matter and black lives matter … these are forces that is already dividing the United states of America …..
God Bess our Officers! Thank you for your service!
No it doesn’t bc murder is murder regardless of color skin or clothing. If officers want respect they should respect the citizens more than their puppet master the federal/state govt. The power belongs to the people and their lives matter too. What about all the police on citizen murders that these officers get away with? They get to legally murder American citizens EVEN when their lives are NOT in imminent danger. Time to stop babying the people who are quick to turn any American citizen into a criminal for quota reasons… They say they do not have a quota BUT if you’re job is to write tickets and you don’t write tickets. What happens?
It’s murder or attempted murder. They should get the death penalty.
It should be a law now!
Technically they don’t. A judge rule that cops are obligated to protect society not the individual. The only person that has to have your back is you if you want to live that is.
