Black Lives Matter has been criticized since its inception for its lack of clear policy goals. Instead, they’ve resorted to violence, vandalism, and chaos to make their point — as unclear as that may have been.
In the aftermath of the Dallas police massacre in 2016, two policies emerged from the controversial protest group. They want to totally disarm, demilitarize, defund, and disband the police, and they want reparations from white Americans.
One Black Lives matter organizer advocated for the latter policy point in an essay published in Wear Your Voice Magazine. In the piece, she demanded “housing, transportation, food, clothes, free space for meetings and work space; we need laptops, cell phones, encrypted systems for communication, solar power and LAND. ”
Why those systems of communications need to be encrypted is anyone’s guess — but it seems fairly obvious.
See Ashleigh Shackelford’s demands on the next page:
A black person is many times more likely to have an ancestor that was a slave than a white person is to have an ancestor that was a slave owner! While the majority of blacks at that time may have been slaves, it was only a tiny percentage of a very much smaller total population at that time that had slaves, mostly rich Southern Democrats! Slavery is an issue that the overwhelming majority of white people in the USA have absolutely no connection to, other than misplaced and racist “guilt by association” related to their white skin. In fact, choosing any number of people at random, it is much more likely that they had ancestors that fought with the Union to free the slaves, than to find one whose ancestor actually owned slaves. It is immoral to accuse or punish people for events and issues to which they are entirely innocent, except for the color of their skin.
Everything I have I WORKED for!
She needs more money for makeup.
This stuff is absurd
Some of my Irish ancestors might have been slaves, too, sold into slavery by the British to get rid of Irish “excess population” and troublemakers. Do I get reparations, too? Or do I still have to pay them, despite the fact that none of my ancestors ever owned slaves?
Oh! Do you have a lot to learn.
See ya on the battle field.
The first slave owner in the USA was a black man. See him if you think you are owed something….you stupid$#%&!@*
Come and try to take it, and see if you leave with anything.!
She just needs to be ignored, as she has nothing of intelligence or reason to say, only self-centered arrogance.
