How could you deal with a highly armed American populace all at once if you wanted to take down the country? Why isn’t Barack Obama impeached or arrested yet? How could you get rid of 90% of the American population without ever setting foot on our soil?
All those questions could very well have the same answer: an EMP attack.
An Electromagnetic Pulse is a short burst of energy that has the ability to completely fry any and all electronics and can be brought about by a exploding a nuclear device at high altitude (North Korea is capable of doing this right now) or even just by a solar flare. I highly doubt 90% of the population. No power will certainly bring pandemonium, but I have a feeling that facing extinction will bring out the survival skills in most people.

an EMP attack would kill lots of electronics….but wouldn’t harm a single person….unless they are stuck in an elevator or something……it would be a tremendous burden indeed, but life would still go on, and the electronic stuff can be replaced….it would just take a while……..the method for such an attack, would involve a nuclear device set off at high al$#%&!@*ude, and the wave would burn out certain electronic devices…….it would be scary indeed….but not a total disaster that the story implies….
To shield each transformer would cost about $500. So for under a billion dollars we can avoid the whole thing.
