I grew up in the Cold War. A nuclear weapon detonated 200 miles up would stop all fowing electrons in the electrical grid. Basically frying it. With no electricity nation wide the U.S. would become a living hell.
Doubt 90% but yes the elderly, young and anyone in alaska and many others in northern states are at HIGH risk.
