I have seen an extensive documentary regarding the failure of the nation’s power grid by an EMP. It’s not just electrical items in your home that would be affected but things that we all take for granted. Gas stations wouldn’t be able to pump gas. Banks would be affected. All computers would be shut down affecting grocery stores, etc. There would be nothing operating. This program was very frightening. I surely hope that we don’t experience this.

While the EMP threat is “real,” so is a CME, and it’s happened before, and it would be much more widespread and effective than ANY EMP. And how is this “news?”

90%? Probably not, at least immediately. But remember, if ALL the grid is destroyed (which a single EMP WON’T do) then EVERYTHING shuts down within 6 months or less. Casualty rates will be high, especially because those that live in metropolitan areas (the bulk of the population) are not prepared to live on their own resources. But even “preppers” can’t fight the rapid spreading of disease and other calamities that would accompany a total breakdown of “the grid.”
