EMP is science fiction. Also, you are exposed to large doses of “emp’ in a MIR machine in the hospital. Emp’s only disable electronic components, and happen only during a nuclear explosion. The atoms break down and the electrons scatter creating a large magnetic field that frys any powered up electronics.

I don’t think knives guns or swords are affected by an emp. All that would do is p**s everyone off and I don’t think an invading army would get more than few miles in before they were attacked.
This capability has been around for over 15 years but somehow President Obama is the one that’s not keeping us safe. Under this President you’re safer than you’ve ever been. No domestic attacks under Obamas watch, ended two completely unnecessary wars, killed Bin Laden which Bush didnt even attempt but went after Saddam who did nothing to us and several more extremists threats.
