How could you deal with a highly armed American populace all at once if you wanted to take down the country? Why isn’t Barack Obama impeached or arrested yet? How could you get rid of 90% of the American population without ever setting foot on our soil?
All those questions could very well have the same answer: an EMP attack.
An Electromagnetic Pulse is a short burst of energy that has the ability to completely fry any and all electronics and can be brought about by a exploding a nuclear device at high altitude (North Korea is capable of doing this right now) or even just by a solar flare. Electro Magnetic Pulse would destroy all electronic devices, shut down all computers and everything computer controlled. all tv’s and radios, power producing plants etc, etc, etc but it would not kill anyone directly.

I like and respect the judge but her numbers are way over inflated. Having worked in and around Nuclear weapons and the support programs in the military in the 80’s here is what I know about EMP. The best explanation is found in a book from 1988 called WarDay. The biggest population hit would be those with pacemakers and other electronic life support items. Most banks would be wiped out. Every vehicle made after 78 would be rendered inoperable. She is correct about the grid but as has been already shown 60 well placed attacks would be equally disastrous. The real civilian casualties will be those killed in the fighting for available foodstuffs.
