All those questions could very well have the same answer: an EMP attack.

90%? Where did that number come from? You can cut off my electricity today, that won’t make me dead? Come check on me in a year, I will still be here. This is a scare tactic. Most Americans, are very resourceful.
I agree, my family would get along great. I worry more about our knee jerk government that some EMP.
EMP will take out wiring, circuitry, virtually anything with small electrical current traces, whether they are copper, silicon silver or gold.. the excessive current will cause these small traces to break. Coils and direct wires, such as powerlines are suseptible.
The reason so many would die, there would be no trucks to bring food, no power to cook, no sanitation, no garbage.. Everything we know will likely not work, including sewage and sanitation.
The lives of hundreds of millions would instantly be turned back to the 18th century, prior to the invention of electicity.. however even back then, they had steam genration and steam engines for performing minor tasks such as logging, machinery, and water wheel generation.. all of those have been replaced, so it would be in essence going back to the 17th century..
Modern humans depend on modern ammenities, and the only reason the planet is sustaining 7.2 billion people at the present moment is from genetically modified food, consumption of oil and fuels for power, modern farming and food production, modern medical care, etc. We’ve already gone well past our planet’s ability to support the people we have walking around… without electricity, everything, and I mean everything stops.. I think the article is pretty dead on… unless you have massive food storage, defensive support, ability to grow a garden and self sustain until modern power and equipment is restored. I think people don’t realize if the power went dead, so would they.. everything you do is solely based on power and the consumption of natural fuels and resources.

Rember we are a republic and not a democratic government. The coustuition was written to protect the rights of the people. It is a binding document that can not be changed by the government or the people. If you don’t believe that then look up the difference between the two and if you don’t think we are a rebublic then go back to history class. It also states that if the government tries to remove those rights from us it is not only our right but our responsibility to remove that body and put forth a new. We need to limit terms of congress. We should put in a whole new group. We have too many lawyer running our government and the country into the ground.
