Most police officers do an amazing job at what they do: protecting and serving the American people. Despite this, there is a serious problem with some cops assuming that their badges grant them extra rights. Last year, police killed 1,100 Americans. The first five months of 2015 saw 476 deaths at the hands of American police, with over 1,100 predicted by the end of the year.
You may think that these numbers seem low, considering there are over 300 million Americans. But, when you consider the killing rate of our police officers in comparison with the law enforcement of other countries, it is very embarrassing.
Japanese police killed one person last year in a country with over 100 million citizens. Icelandic police only killed one person in its entire history. And, to top if off, American police have a murder rate worst than the homicide rates of the two most violent countries in the world.

Also you realize only a hand full of cities make up about 50% of our gun crimes? Also the numbers that go into showing homicides, rapes, abuse, and such include police violence. Which skew things also, so it is not just the criminals that are being let out of jail. Its the ones sitting around on paid vacation after murdering people over a speeding ticket, or because they thought the unarmed man had a gun.
WHAT A CROCK
Taking you out of my feed for sending out such garbage.
Mike Hastings, that is not true. Cops have been abusing power. Respect is a two way street, I agree with that but I myself have given respect to police only to be placed in handcuffs for no reason. Was released and not even given a ticket. So it’s not all just because of no respect for the law.
The films don’t always show what happens before the police use force. Some people seem to leave that part out just to push their personal agenda.
Maybe they have to be.
Thugs are more violent
Yes and most of the cities are liberal democratic controlled .
How about the people they are Policing ????
I personally know a Tennessee Highway Patrolman who was killed after pulling someone over as he walked up to the car. For no reason he was shot an killed by a person with no respect for the law. Sure their are a few cops that take it to far but the majority are good people risking their lives to protect and serve.
