This rat trap anyone can build. You make it once and it catches many rats.
A bucket, some peanut butter, a pipe and some water. Yup, that’s pretty simple.
One improvement suggested by someone using this trap is to add antifreeze to the water, which instantly kills the rats.
Been using this for over 10 years at my camp. Works great on mice !

Do not use the anti freeze as suggested. This is usually ethylene glycol and is highly toxic to your pets and humans if ingested. Animals find it irresistible because of its sweet taste. Many pet deaths have occured as a result.
Should probably put them all over Washington DC. Lots of rats there

RV antifreeze is safe I think…I have used this a camp often. Minnesota Mouse Trap it was called when I first heard of it.
I’d love to find a bucket large enough for DC. Problem is, it would overflow too quickly.

Don’t put antifreeze in it. Cats and dogs will drink it and die a slow agonizing death. Guaranteed.
