This rat trap anyone can build. You make it once and it catches many rats.
A bucket, some peanut butter, a pipe and some water. Yup, that’s pretty simple.
One improvement suggested by someone using this trap is to add antifreeze to the water, which instantly kills the rats.

I would drilling a hole in the pipe at each end of the can and installing a wire or cotter pin. That way the can stays in the middle. This looks like an excellent trap and safe around kids and pets. Great idea.

Works for mice, we use it in several locations but bury the dead mice so other animals don’t eat them
