This rat trap anyone can build. You make it once and it catches many rats.
A bucket, some peanut butter, a pipe and some water. Yup, that’s pretty simple.
One improvement suggested by someone using this trap is to add antifreeze to the water, which instantly kills the rats.
If you have pets, I would not add the antifreeze as it will kill any animal.

It works without anti-freeze. However. There was no catching the pack-rat that gnawed on our house framing for over 6 months. He ate all the peanut butter clean off that trap and never fell in. We ultimately used a live trap with half an apple smeared with peanut butter. Took him far out in the country near some oak trees (with acorns) and a stream nearby. Our house became much quieter at night…:)
Make it bigger and put a golf club in it and set it by the White House.
