12)Watergate: Hillary Clinton Fired for Being a ‘Liar’

As a young attorney, Hillary Clinton played a small part in the Watergate affair. This was before she had accumulated  much of the immunity from consequences she seemed to gain after years of building influence. You’ll have to decide for yourself if the events in 1974 taught her any lasting lessons.

Clinton was 27 when she was fired from the staff of the House Judiciary committee responsible for investigating the Watergate scandal. Her supervisor, long-time Democrat Jerry Zeifman declared her a liar and dismissed her.

“She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer,” said Zeifman. “She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee and the rules of confidentiality.”

Not only did Zeifman fire Clinton for her dishonesty, he refused to give her his recommendation. Zeifman only applied such severe censure to three employees over his 17-year career.
