SF Mayor Accuses “Patriot Prayer” Rally Of Advocating Violence, Slams Park Service for Issuing Permit

Mayor Lee noted his opposition to and disappointment regarding the issuance of the permit by the Park Service.

We are responsible and feel responsible for everyone’s public safety, particularly residents of San Francisco.” Lee also urged residents and visitors to the San Francisco Bay Area to “not dignify people who are coming in here under the guise of ‘patriot’ and ‘prayer’ words to really preach violence and hatred, and incite violence. Avoid going to Crissy Field and engaging with members of Patriot Prayer because that is precisely what they wish us to do.”

To the contrary, Patriot Prayer organizer Joey Gibson said the purpose of the rally is to spread a message of unity, peace, love and free speech.

Gibson stressed that the following groups are not welcome to attend: extremists, neo-Nazis, communists, Antifa, the Ku Klux Klan, and white nationalists.

He stressed “This is an opportunity for moderate Americans to come in with opposing views. We will not allow the extremists to tear apart this country.”

However, joining in opposition to the rally is the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), one of the most radical left-wing groups in the country. Its hatred of Christian and conservative organizations is well established. The SPLC has labeled Patriot Prayer an “alt-right” group.

Counter protesters to the Patriot Prayer rally have been invited to come to City Hall at noon tomorrow, where elected officials and other speakers will stage their own rally.

Concerned about the potential for violence from groups such as Antifa, the Park Service has published a list of banned items to keep the anarchist thugs from bringing baseball bats, as they did in Charlottesville.

The left already may have shown the hand it intends to play when criminal defense attorneys Tony Serra and Curt Briggs announced they will join legal colleagues at the Pier 5 Law Offices to provide pro bono legal services to those charged in connection with protests of the Patriot Prayer rally.

Briggs noted that anyone charged with a violent crime against a neo-Nazi or white supremacist at the rally will receive free legal assistance. That would appear to be a signal for the anarchists to attack anyone they please.

Predictably, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, whose district is San Francisco, joined in the criticism of the Park Service, calling the decision to approve the permit “ill-conceived.”

It’s all part of the radical Alinsky playbook to demonize and define your opponents, even to the extent of outright lying in order to manipulate public opinion.
