Secretary of Defense James Mattis is in South Korea for talks as the North continues to make outlandish threats including the threat to nuke the U.S. If the North is missing the significance of his visit, or refusing to acknowledge the seriousness of the situation, then its leaders are not only warmongers but incompetent ones at that.
It’s one thing to purchase or develop weapons. It’s another thing to know when to use them. By his bellicose and dangerous rhetoric, it is not clear that North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un understands this or cares to understand it.
