Saudi Arabian blogger Raif Badawi received his first 50 lashes out of 1,000 – to be carried out weekly for 20 weeks – this past week as part of a sentence for ‘insulting Islam’ through his now banned website, Liberal Saudi Network.
The sentence also carries ten years in prison a fine of over $200,000.

In England police officers can arrest criminals in any jurisdiction. Why is this not possible in America? Why do states have different laws when it is only one country? Seems so ridiculous.
