You and I might be quite ignorant of British politics. In fact, I might venture to say that nearly 100% of Americans are not in the very least interested in the legal wranglings of that country with its intricate politics double-speak and triple-meaning back-pedaling. They stand there and call each other all kinds of brutal names, scream and yell, even fistfight with each other! And then, at the end of the day, the tip their hats to one another and invite the other over for a “spot of tea” at their office. It’s insane, it’s ridiculous, and it’s mind-numbingly hilarious. It is British politics.
One thing that Americans could finally embrace and rally around, however, was the British people’s chance to get the hell out of the European Union. Americans have a very solid history behind them that looks at situations like these, one where big government is attempting to usurp power in a way that creates a rift between the people and their heritage or culture. We, as Americans, abhor that behavior. And we recognize it faster than a Brit apologizes to you when you run into his car from behind (it actually happened to me in London).
If there is one thing that Americans cannot stomach, it’s oppressive government and its need to destroy any semblance of the people’s right to their own destiny. That’s what the European Union is and that’s why the British people voted to exit the horrid agreement between them and the EU monster.
On the next page, you’ll find that one of the host of “remainers” has launched into a tirade over the people choosing for themselves instead of on behalf of the continent and how she believes that the will of the people CAN GO TO HELL!
