Michelle Obama has hobnobbed with some of the most powerful people in the world, which happens when you’re married to the President of the United States.
And what is her takeaway from all these meetings with world leaders?
That they’re just not that smart.
During a speech at London’s Southbank Centre on Monday, the former First Lady, who will turn 55 in January, said that she has been “at every powerful table you can think of”, from corporate boards, to “G summits”, to the UN.
“Here’s the secret: they’re not that smart. There are a lot of things that folks are doing to keep their seats because they don’t want to give up power. And what better way to do that than to make you feel you don’t belong . . . you have to prepare yourself, because when you get those arrows thrown at you, all you can fall back on is your experience and your ability.”
Mrs. Obama is suggesting that the people on top are there not because they are intelligent at all, but because they put other people down, making them feel small.
In a hilarious response to Michelle’s posturing, conservative political commentator Dinesh D’Souza, pointed out that her college thesis at Princeton University was ‘illiterate and incoherent.’
