Infuriated San Fransisco Mayor Bans Travel To North Carolina Over “Anti-Trans Bathroom Law”

The governor of North Carolina, Pat McGrory, has infuriated the Mayor of San Fransisco, Ed Lee, with the newly signed legislation that prevents anti-discrimination protection for transgenders, gays, and lesbians. Lee is so angry that he has told his city workers that they cannot travel to North Carolina.

North Carolina Gov. Pat McGrory signed legislation this week voiding a Charlotte ordinance that would have allowed transgender people to legally use restrooms aligned with their gender identity. The ordinance also would have provided wide protections against discrimination in public accommodations.

The law prevents cities and counties from passing anti-discrimination rules and imposes a statewide standard that leaves out protections based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

Lee’s out of control big brother heavy-handedness is evident in banning the city employees from travel.  In a statement he said, “I (sic) will not subsidize legally sanctioned discrimination”, claiming that this law “turns back the clock on civil rights protections”.

Lee is just an example of what the Obama Administration and most on the left see as their right and responsibility, to force America into their world view mold, at any cost, even to the detriment of the whole of society.

With a new transgender task force in Washington, tax dollars are being wasted on making life easier for this population.  According to Truth and Action:

Nine Congressmen are now in charge of determining how the government should help transgenders feel accepted, on YOUR tax dollars.  The transgender population is only .3% of the population, yet they get to waste our money because their lives need to be made easier!

“The purpose of the task force is to analyze the challenges and barriers and figure out what the government’s role is in making life easier for transgenders,” Roddy Flynn, the executive director of the Congressional LGBT Equality Caucus told The Christian Science Monitor. “We need much more data about these barriers to the American dream.”

And LGBT Equality Caucus Co-Chair Rep. Jared Polis (D-Colo.) lamented that transgendered people are often “left out” of LGBT campaigns.

Pulling the victim card, Jared Polis cries that the transgenders feel “left out” and somehow equates this with a role of the government to fix.  This does not fall under the “general welfare” clause, but these foolish Representatives don’t seem to have anything else of substance to be doing as elected officials.

San Fransisco Mayor Lee views himself as the agent of change for gays, lesbians and transgender, at the expense of all those who don’t hold this world view.  Like most on the left they ignore facts and force their theories on all, even if their theories are detrimental to those who they claim to help.

Let’s forget the fact that John Hopkins University has, after careful research and scientific analysis, taken a stand not to do sexual reassignment surgeries because it was found not  to be beneficial for the patient.

Yet, the Obama administration seems to think it has all knowledge, of all subjects, and therefore can make the leap that to have more coverage in Obamacare for transgenders is most prudent.

Medical science has demonstrated that reassignment is not best for a patient, yet we the tax payer must ante up and will be helping cover more “health procedures sought by the transgendered.”

Big brother government now believes that banning travel to another state is justified and American.  It believes forcing people to pay for those those things that go against their morality is also acceptable and that it is their way or the highway, as long as that highway does not go through North Carolina.
