I did a lot of research on this a few years back and thid rig will not work in all but a very select few places and I seriously doubi you could go beyond 30 feet asuming the soil was perfect for it and you didn’t hit any rocks bigger than a half dollar or so. If anyone is interested in doing this for real you will need a much sturdier casing and a carbide tipped drill. The process is as slow as snot running up a hill in January but it does work and if you don’t hit water it doesnt cost much to start over in another location. Here is the best homeowner drill set up I could come up after several years of research on the subject. I have no affilation with the vendor but this is what works and if you are a halfway decent fabricator/welder You could make your own rig. , http://www.deeprock.com/HD/
We should all be doing everything we can to be more self dependent ,not think that someone should give you everything . The day will come when you will have too.

I know from experience with watering my horse for 3 years that if you take the well check out of the manuel pump head and always save about 1/4 cup of water, you can begin pumping and add water to prime which starts in 10 seconds…
In some locations it would be physically impossible to drill deep enough using this method to get to good potable water. Also, in some areas you have water right issues that have to be dealt with as well.
Who’s making money on this one?
It is a little technical for most people but there are those that understand this message and then there are those that content with just complaining and waiting to be fed and watered like cattle
