Coventry, R.I.: In yet another case of crazy overreaction by school officials, a seventh-grade math student with a perfect attendance record has been suspended and may face expulsion from school after a tiny keychain in the shape of a pistol fell from his backpack.
Apparently fearing that the roughly quarter-sized hunk of cheap metal was somehow a danger to life and limb, school officials sprang into action. They suspended Lyssikatos for three days. He has also been banned from an upcoming class field trip.
