3 Hour Military Exercise Conducted In Downtown Fort Lauderdale

Florida recently joined 8 other states in a massive military drill that will take place from July 15th to September 15th, 2015, entitled Jade Helm. The size, scope and language used to frame the exercise has many concerned that it’s much more than just a drill.

By doing things such as calling Texas and Utah ‘hostile’, the utilization of ‘infiltration’ exercises and the fact that Jade Helm will be conducted in a manner that contradicts the premise of the exercise itself, many are lead to believe that this is either a preparation for martial law or is a positioning of personnel and equipment for an imminent event.

This drill in Fort Lauderdale is causing a stir in the community from everyone who doesn’t like having their windows rattled to others who fear the true intention of the exercises.

“I watched them practice rounding up people for about two hours from my balcony. I don’t see why they can’t do this on a military base if its what they say it is. This is outrageous,” wrote Meighan. He continued, “I served in the US Army. Clearly I support the military. I think the military should be exercising on military bases not in downtown Fort Lauderdale.”

These exercises in Fort Lauderdale have been conducted for a few years now, leading some to stated that it’s just routine. Others counter this notion stating that the federal government has been preparing for many years knowing martial law will be necessary upon collapse of our economy.

Either way, Meighan brings up some unassailable points:

“But many of us feel that the separation between military and civilian is not just for Washington DC chain of command. We’ve managed to have a successful military for well over 200 years without having to train so obnoxiously in civilian areas. I thought the point of being a citizen soldier was so we didn’t have troops in neighborhoods unless it’s an emergency. Anyways I hope they reconsider this new idea for many reasons outside of these tight helicopter maneuvers being inherently dangerous, it’s supposed to be an American tradition to keep troops and civilians separated. After you serve your country and return home it’s the last thing you expect to see through your living room window,” Meighan posted.

In case you missed the 3 hr military excercise downtown tonight.
