Voting for the most part along party lines, Senate Republicans managed to pass a bill that not only repeals Obamacare, but also defunds Planned Parenthood, two goals that conservatives have been trying to accomplish for some time now. The bill is now ready to go to the House of Representatives, where the overwhelmingly-Republican majority is expected to vote in favor of the measure. Of course, not everybody is happy about this state of affairs.
Democrats, of course, are hopping mad about the whole thing, even as they try to dismiss it as political theatre. Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid sneeringly remarked, “Another charade may make some Republicans feel better, but it won’t make law,” while President Obama is all but certain to veto it.
